After lunch (at your own expense), set out on a guided city tour to explore some of the city’s main attractions, including the Reunification Palace, War Remnants Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, City Post Office, Opera House, City Hall and Ben Thanh Market. Spend the evening at your leisure.

This morning, leave the bustle of Saigon behind and travel west to the lush Mekong River Delta. Begin your cruise from Phu An Jetty at 10:00 A.M. From the deck of the sampan, observe local life along the river as people go about their daily activities amid picturesque countryside landscapes, while the attentive crew serves tea and seasonal fruit.

Before arriving in Sa Dec, stop at several points along the river to discover some of the region’s traditional cottage industries, including a brick factory where everything is made by hand. Continue past monkey bridges and tiny villages before visiting a Cao Dai temple.

Upon arrival in Sa Dec, take a stroll through the outdoor market and visit one of the town’s highlights, the ancient house of Huynh Thuy Le, a real-life character in the celebrated novel and film The Lover by Marguerite Duras.

Lunch is served on board as the sampan continues toward Can Tho along a narrow canal filled with local activity. Explore the surrounding countryside by local rowboat before making your final stop before sunset at an ancient house, known as a “Nha Co” in Vietnamese, dating back to the 19th century.

The owner welcomes you into his home, where you will enjoy a candlelit dinner in an authentic countryside setting. After dinner, return to the sampan and continue cruising toward the Hau River for your overnight stay on board.

Wake up early at 6:00 A.M. for a visit to the famous Cai Rang Floating Market, which operates daily from 5:00 A.M. Breakfast is served on board as your boat navigates toward the market.

Local barges loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables create a lively scene and wonderful photo opportunities. Continue cruising before disembarking at Ninh Kieu Pier.

Then transfer to Can Tho Airport for your domestic flight to Danang. Upon arrival, your guide and driver will take you on a short drive to the peaceful riverside town of Hoi An. Check in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Immerse yourself in the tranquility and charm of Hoi An, a peaceful riverside town with a rich trading history. From the 16th to the 18th centuries, Hoi An was a thriving international port frequented by Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Arab traders, who came to trade in the high-quality silk still produced in the region.

Today, Hoi An is a relaxing destination popular with visitors for its distinctive architecture, skilled tailors and numerous cafés.

Take a half-day walking tour through the narrow, winding streets of the ancient town center, visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, the Chinese Assembly Hall, the 200-year-old Tan Ky Ancestral House and the famous Japanese Bridge.

After lunch, enjoy a short boat trip to a nearby island and visit a handicraft village specializing in ceramics. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy a free evening at your leisure.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before checking out and driving over the 500-meter-high Hai Van Pass to Hue. Stop at scenic Lang Co Beach for a drink before continuing to Hue, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former imperial capital of Vietnam.

Spend the afternoon on a leisurely walking tour through the ancient city. Visit the Royal Citadel, the Imperial Museum and the Mausoleum of King Tu Duc, a replica of the king’s palace built for his next reincarnation.

This morning, drive to Phu Bai Airport to catch your short flight to Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in the city center.

In the late afternoon, take a leisurely walk around the city center and visit some of Hanoi’s main attractions, including the Opera House, Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple.

Today, enjoy a full day exploring Vietnam’s charming capital. Start with a visit to the Temple of Literature, well known as Vietnam’s first university. Continue to one of the city’s museums, with a choice between the History Museum and the Ethnology Museum, before lunch at your own expense.

In the afternoon, transfer to Ba Dinh Square, home to the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh, who led Vietnam to independence from French colonial rule. The site has become an important Hanoi landmark and offers an opportunity to learn more about Vietnam’s history.

From there, wander through the beautiful surrounding gardens toward the One Pillar Pagoda and Presidential Palace, where a replica of Ho Chi Minh’s simple working space is on display.

Later, hop on a cyclo, one of Hanoi’s most traditional forms of transportation. This human-powered vehicle offers a comfortable seat at the front for passengers, with the driver at the back. Enjoy a leisurely one-hour ride, a perfect opportunity for photography and slow-paced sightseeing while experiencing the city from a local perspective.

Disembark at the ancient city gate of O Quan Chuong and continue on foot to Thanh Ha Local Market. Walk through the bustling streets and alleys before ending at Ta Hien Street, where you can enjoy a glass of local beer at a street-side corner surrounded by local life.

Conclude the day with a traditional Water Puppet Performance, a unique Vietnamese art form originating from the wet-rice culture of Southeast Asia.

After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you in the hotel lobby before departing Hanoi for Sapa. Enjoy a six-hour journey along Vietnam’s longest modern highway.

Upon arrival in Sapa, check in to your hotel before driving to Tram Ton Pass and Heaven’s Gate, the highest point on the roads in Vietnam at over 2,000 meters. Admire the spectacular mountain views, including the Fansipan summit, the highest peak in the Indochina mountains, weather permitting.

Continue to the nearby Silver Waterfall, where you can enjoy marvelous scenery surrounded by nature. Along the way, stop at O Quy Ho Village, known for the various vegetables, flowers, fruit trees and medicinal plants grown in the area.

Spend the afternoon exploring the charming town of Sapa or relaxing at your leisure.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before setting out on a full-day trek to explore Sapa’s cultural diversity and beautiful natural scenery.

Take a guided hike through valleys decorated with terraced rice fields and pass through remote hill tribe villages. You can choose from three trekking options: a soft trek of approximately 3 km, a medium trek of approximately 6 km or a long trek of approximately 12 km.

Trekking is an excellent way to discover local daily life and experience the cultures of the H’mong, Dzao and Dzay communities who live in the region.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before setting out on a 2.5-hour drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay.

Spend nearly 24 hours cruising through the spectacular bay, a natural wonderland of towering limestone islands and sparkling turquoise waters. Arrive at the pier around noon and board your traditional junk boat. Enjoy a gourmet lunch featuring fresh seafood as you sail into the mystical scenery of Halong Bay.

In the afternoon, cruise among some of Halong Bay’s many islands, including Dinh Huong and Ga Choi. Along the way, visit one of the bay’s three largest caves: Thien Cung, Dau Go or Sung Sot.

Continue to an island cove with a sheltered white-sand beach, where you can take a refreshing swim in the warm waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. Spend the night on board your junk, gently lulled to sleep by the calm waters of the bay.

Return to the junk for breakfast, then relax on the sundeck and admire the impressive rock formations of Bai Tu Long Bay as you cruise back toward Halong City.
