Today is a full day to explore Vietnam’s charming capital. Start with a visit to the Temple of Literature, known as Vietnam’s first university. Continue to one of the city’s museums, with a choice between the History Museum and the Ethnology Museum, before lunch at your own expense.

In the afternoon, visit Ba Dinh Square and the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh, an important landmark where you can learn more about Vietnam’s history. From there, walk through the surrounding gardens to the One Pillar Pagoda and Presidential Palace, where a replica of Ho Chi Minh’s simple working space is on display.

Afterward, enjoy a leisurely one-hour cyclo ride through Hanoi. At the same time,this traditional human-powered vehicle offers a great opportunity for photos and a closer look at local life. Disembark at the ancient city gate of O Quan Chuong, then walk to Thanh Ha local market and through the bustling streets and alleys before ending at Ta Hien Street. Enjoy a glass of local beer at a lively street corner surrounded by local residents.

Conclude the day with a traditional Water Puppet Performance, a unique Vietnamese art form rooted in Southeast Asia’s wet-rice culture.

After breakfast, enjoy a pleasant 2.5-hour drive to Tam Coc, also known as “Halong Bay on land.” The journey offers an excellent opportunity to observe rural Vietnam up close. Along the way, stop to take photographs of local villages and the surrounding landscape.

On arrival in Tam Coc, board your private sampan for a 90-minute cruise along the Ngo Dong River. Pass through three caves — Hang Ca, Hang Giua and Hang Cuoi — which helped make the area famous in the French film Indochine. Additionally, visit Bich Dong Pagoda.Moreover, set among pink lotuses and peaceful surroundings, the pagoda offers spectacular views of the area.

Afterward,return to Tam Coc and enjoy a delicious Vietnamese lunch.

Afterward, transfer to Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam. Visit the temples dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang of the Dinh Dynasty (968–980) and Emperor Le Dai Hanh of the Le Dynasty (980–1009), who played important roles in the country’s history after centuries of Northern rule.

Wake up to fresh coffee and enjoy a Tai Chi session before cruising back to shore. En route, the junk weaves through impressive rock formations, where you can enjoy kayaking (excluded from the cruise package). After brunch, disembark and head back to Hai Phong City.

Hai Phong is not only a major industrial port city but also has great potential for tourism. The city preserves many architectural treasures, including traditional pagodas and temples as well as French neoclassical buildings in the old neighborhood.

Upon arrival, begin your city tour at the Opera Theatre, also known as the Municipal Theatre. It is one of three theatres built by the French in Vietnam and is a cultural landmark of the Port City. Next, visit the Flower Stall and Le Chan Statue, dedicated to one of the female generals who fought against Chinese rule in 43 CE under the Trung Sisters.

Walk along the tree-lined streets for an orientation of the city and observe local life at Iron Market (Cho Sat), a busy downtown market covering a large area. Even if you do not plan to shop, it is an interesting place to experience the daily rhythm of Hai Phong.

Conclude the half-day city tour at Du Hang Pagoda, whose ancient architecture dates back to the Early Le Dynasty. Admire its valuable Buddha statues, horizontal lacquered boards and parallel sentences featuring the artistic style of the Nguyen Dynasty.

Later in the afternoon, drive back to Hanoi along one of Vietnam’s modern freeways.

After breakfast, take a shuttle bus for a scenic five-hour journey from Hanoi to Sapa along Vietnam’s longest and modern highway, with a comfort stop halfway. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and enjoy lunch at your own expense.

In the afternoon, take a guided orientation walk through Sapa town. Visit key sites including the Old Church, local market, and the town’s dining and shopping streets.

Continue to Sau Chua, an ethnic Black Hmong village that is less frequently visited.Furthermore, located on a mountain summit, the village offers panoramic views over Sapa, especially around sunset. Furthermore,  you will also have the opportunity to interact with local villagers, experience their hospitality and learn more about their daily lives.

Return to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

After breakfast, set out on a full-day trek to explore Sapa’s cultural diversity and beautiful mountain landscapes. Follow your guide through valleys decorated with terraced rice fields and visit remote hill tribe villages.

Alternatively,choose from three trekking options: a soft trek of approximately 3 km, a medium trek of approximately 6 km, or a long trek of approximately 12 km.

Moreover, trekking offers an excellent way to experience local life and learn about the cultures of the H’mong, Dzao and Dzay communities who live in the region.

Return to Sapa in the afternoon.

Early in the morning, your driver and guide will take you to one of the local hill tribe markets: Coc Ly on Tuesday, Sin Cheng on Wednesday, Can Cau on Saturday, or Bac Ha on Sunday.

Wander through the market stalls filled with handcrafted goods sold by different hill tribe communities who come here to buy and sell their products. Therefore,the specific market will be proposed by your travel consultant according to your travel date.

After lunch, say farewell to Vietnam’s Northwest region and return to Hanoi by shuttle bus. Arrive in Hanoi at around 9:00 PM.

Upon arrivalin Hue-a UNESCO World Heritage Site, check in at your hotel and enjoy some time to relax. Later, take a leisurely walking tour through Vietnam’s ancient capital. Visit the Royal Citadel, the Mausoleum of King Tu Duc and the vibrant Dong Ba Market.

After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up for a private boat cruise along the romantic Perfume River. Visit Thien Mu Pagoda, also known as the Lady Pagoda, followed by the ornate tomb of Emperor Minh Mang.

From the 16th to 18th centuries, Hoi An was a thriving international port visited by Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Arab traders. The region was also known for its high-quality silk production.

Today, however, Hoi An is a popular destination known for its distinctive architecture, skilled tailors and numerous cafés.

Take a half-day walking tour through the narrow, winding streets of the ancient quarter. Visit Chua Ong Pagoda, the Chinese Assembly Hall, the 200-year-old Tan Ky Ancestral House and the famous Japanese Bridge.

In the afternoon, enjoy free time to shop, explore the town or relax on the beach.

Today, travel outside Ho Chi Minh City to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels. This underground labyrinth of passageways was used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War, known locally as the “American War,” as protection against American air raids.

Additionally,those who wish can crawl through selected sections of the tunnels to gain a better understanding of what life was like for Vietnamese soldiers during wartime.

In the afternoon, return to the city and visit some of Ho Chi Minh City’s key landmarks, including the Reunification Palace, War Remnants Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, City Post Office and Ben Thanh Market.

After breakfast, leave Ho Chi Minh City and travel to the Mekong River Delta. Arrive in Cai Be at around 11:00 AM and begin your exploration of the delta with a private cruise to visit Cai Be Floating Market, passing a beautiful cathedral along the way.

Continue to local cottage industries and home factories to see how rice paste, rice cookies and coconut candies are made, as well as how longan fruit is dried.

Sail along some of the Mekong’s many branches and creeks, then visit local orchards and an ancient house that is more than 170 years old and was built by the French.

  Afterward,cross the Tien Giang River, one of the two main branches of the Mekong, by motorized boat to visit several river islands and explore the countryside by bicycle.

Your driver will meet you on the other side of the river for the 45-minute journey to Can Tho, the largest city in the Mekong Delta. Meanwhile,enjoy the rest of the day at leisure and explore its lively waterfront and colorful back streets at your own pace.
