Today, enjoy a full-day exploration of Hanoi, a fascinating blend of French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes, ancient pagodas and traditional Vietnamese culture. Visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and stilt house, the nearby One Pillar Pagoda and the Presidential Palace.

Continue to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first national university, before visiting Quan Thanh Temple, Tran Quoc Pagoda and West Lake. You will also visit one of Hanoi’s museums, with a choice between the History Museum and the Ethnology Museum.

In the evening, enjoy a traditional Water Puppet Performance, a unique Vietnamese art form closely connected with the wet-rice culture of Southeast Asia.

Leave Hanoi today for Duong Lam Ancient Village, a traditional agricultural village in the Red River Delta known for its many centuries-old houses. Upon arrival, begin a bicycle ride through the village’s narrow ancient lanes to Mong Phu Hamlet and visit Mong Phu Temple. The hamlet is particularly notable for preserving its original village entrance gate and its connection with Vietnamese national heroes.

Continue cycling through the village to discover the daily life and farming activities of local Vietnamese families. Along the way, stop at two ancient houses, including one built approximately 200 years ago and another dating back around 400 years.

After lunch, visit Ngo Quyen Temple and Phung Hung Temple, dedicated to the national heroes Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung. Continue your bicycle exploration before visiting Mia Pagoda, a 15th-century pagoda famous for its collection of 287 statues in different sizes.

Return to Hanoi in the late afternoon.

Today, travel by road for approximately 2.5 hours from Hanoi to Ninh Binh Province, an ancient land renowned for its remarkable cultural and natural landscapes and recently recognized as a World Heritage destination.

Upon arrival, visit Bai Dinh Pagoda Complex, the largest pagoda complex in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Set against the foothills of Dinh Mountain and surrounded by limestone karsts and spectacular views over the river valley, the complex showcases impressive Vietnamese architecture and offers plenty to explore.

After lunch, continue to the Trang An Grottoes, a spectacular 20-square-kilometre limestone landscape rising dramatically from the surrounding rice fields. Board a traditional sampan and gently travel along the river through a series of caves, including Dark Cave, Bright Cave and Cave of Distillery.

As the boat passes through the caves and into secluded valleys, discover a peaceful landscape that feels remarkably removed from the outside world.

After the excursion, continue to your hotel in Ninh Binh for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, meet your guide and driver at the hotel and begin the approximately 3.5-hour journey through the Red River Delta provinces of Nam Dinh and Thai Binh to Hai Phong City, where your overnight cruise awaits.

Set sail to explore the spectacular waters of Halong Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay. Relax aboard the cruise, take a swim in the crystal-clear waters or unwind on a beautiful white-sand beach while enjoying the surrounding landscapes, fresh seafood and peaceful atmosphere.

You may also join a hands-on cooking class on board before enjoying dinner as the cruise anchors for the night. In the evening, relax on the top deck and watch the water glistening in the moonlight, or try squid fishing, one of the cruise’s memorable nighttime activities.

Early risers may join an invigorating Tai Chi session overlooking the bay. Enjoy coffee, tea and pastries for breakfast in the dining room while taking in the morning view and sunrise over the water.

Later, transfer to a day boat for a visit to Viet Hai Village. Take a bicycle ride along the village paths, passing through rain forests and a dark tunnel while enjoying views of the surrounding rice fields. Stop at the village to relax and visit an ancient local house made from straw, mud and bamboo, offering a glimpse into the traditional life of local people in the valley. Return to the day boat and continue exploring Lan Ha Bay, with lunch served on board. Today, visit My Son Sanctuary, the ancient religious center of the Cham civilization that ruled Central Vietnam from the second to the thirteenth century. The Cham religion was primarily influenced by Indian Hinduism, and My Son is considered one of the best-preserved Cham structures in Vietnam.

The complex includes around seventy Hindu-style towers and temples dating from the second century. It is an important destination for those interested in architecture and ancient civilizations and is one of Vietnam’s UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Return to Hoi An around lunchtime and enjoy time in this charming riverside town. From the 16th to the 18th centuries, Hoi An was a thriving international commercial port visited by Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Arab traders. The town was known for trading high-quality silk and ceramics, and today it remains famous for its eclectic architecture, tailor shops and numerous cafés.

In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour through the narrow winding streets of Hoi An’s Ancient Quarter. Visit Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200-year-old Tan Ky ancestral house and the Japanese Bridge. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy a free evening.

A variety of activities are available, including walking, cycling and cruising to nearby villages and offshore islands. You may also enjoy snorkeling or take a PADI diving course. Today, your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel at 10:00 am for the approximately 4-hour, 150-kilometre journey to Dalat. Located at an altitude of around 1,500 metres above sea level, Dalat is known as a Little Paris of Southeast Asia and enjoys a cool climate throughout the year.

The city is surrounded by pine forests, waterfalls, beautiful lakes and flower gardens. In the afternoon, explore some of Dalat’s notable landmarks, including the former summer residence of Bao Dai, the last Emperor of Vietnam, the old Dalat Railway Station, the Central Market and the famous XQ Embroidery Workshop.

There will also be time for a short walk around Xuan Huong Lake to experience the atmosphere of this charming highland city in the evening.

Meet your guide at 8:00 am and begin your countryside journey towards Tanung Village. Along the way, discover the local countryside and learn about the region’s agricultural life and products, including vegetable and flower farms, pine forests, coffee plantations, rice wine, a cricket farm and local silk production.

Continue through plantations and forests to Elephant Waterfall, one of the largest waterfalls near the city, and visit Linh An Pagoda, home to a giant Buddha statue.

Your guide will recommend a lunch spot as you return to Dalat city. In the afternoon, continue your journey by cable car down to Tuyen Lam Lake and Truc Lam Meditation Pagoda, a famous religious site known for its beautiful garden.

Afterwards, drive directly to Lien Khuong Airport for your flight to Saigon. Upon arrival, transfer to your centrally located hotel, check in and spend the night in the city.

Today, travel outside Saigon to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground network of passageways used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War, referred to locally as the “American War.” Those who wish may crawl through selected sections of the tunnels to gain a better understanding of the conditions experienced by Vietnamese soldiers during wartime.

After a lunch stop, continue your Ho Chi Minh City sightseeing with visits to the War Remnants Museum and the former Presidential Palace.

Conclude the day by exploring the city’s French colonial architecture, including Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Post Office. Continue to Ben Thanh Market, where you can browse through its wide array of local goods.

Today, leave Saigon and travel to the Mekong River Delta. After an early breakfast at the hotel, drive to the riverside town of Cai Be.

Along the way, stop at a local candy factory and an orchard garden, where you will have the opportunity to listen to traditional music. Continue with a relaxing lunch at a riverside restaurant before crossing the river by motorized boat to visit several fluvial islands.

Explore the countryside by bicycle and experience the peaceful atmosphere of the Mekong Delta. Your driver will meet you at Vinh Long Pier and transfer you to Can Tho City for your overnight stay.

Wake early and leave your hotel by motorized boat to visit the famous Cai Rang Floating Market. Continue by boat to explore the Mekong Delta’s well-known fruit orchards and sample fresh, exotic fruits.

Afterwards, drive back to Saigon and transfer to Tan Son Nhat International Airport for your onward flight home.
